Hello!
I’m Emily
I am a queer, neurodivergent illustrator, based in Norwich, UK. I love creating work that empowers and represents marginalised people. I have experience working publishing, branding, advertising and product design.
Some of the key themes in my work are queerness, accessibility, mental health and inclusivity. I love challenging myself to reflect on, and include these themes in any work I create.
Why do I make the work I do?
I make the work that I do in the hopes that it can be the representation that I needed when I was younger. As a child I always felt different to everyone else and I didn’t understand why. I hope that people can find themselves in my illustrations and feel less alone, and know that it is okay for them to be different.
I also make my illustrations as a way to help me process my own feeling about the world and my identity. As an autistic person sometimes I find it hard to understand my thoughts and feeling but I have found when I create illustration about what I am struggling with I can process what is going on and feel a sense of calm.
My artwork also feels like my way of connecting with people. I have always been anxious and often struggle in social situations, but for me illustration allows me to build connects, find my voice and create community.

My Values .
Inclusivity
Creating inclusive imagery is at the heart of my practice as an illustrator. My goal is to represent marginalised people who aren’t often represented in traditional media in a way that feels true to them. I am constantly working to include different ethnicities, cultures, disabilities and wider identities within my work.
Sustainability
Sustainability is something I am always aware of in my creative practice and the running of my small business. I make an active effort to reuse and recycle packaging when sending out orders from my shop. Where possible I get my products produced within the UK, always use recycled paper and materials.
Creativity
Creativity is what my practice is built on. I enjoy experimenting and trying new things within my work to create new and exciting outcomes. It is also important for me to encourage creativity in the wider community and share how being creative can allow people to express themselves and connect with others.
Accessibility
As a neurodivergent and disabled person accessibility is something that is really important to me. Whenever I run or attend events I so everything I can to make my space as accessible as possible. When working with clients or customers I am always more than happy to make accomodations for people to meet their needs.
