Divine Feminine Tarot
Divine Feminine Tarot is a self initiated project that began in the summer of 2021. The purpose of the project was to redesign the tarot deck in a way that is more inclusive, representative and celebratory of all those who identify as women and other margionalised genders.
The project developed with the Wild West cowgirls theme to establish a cohesive aesthetic and to play into the stereotypes of cowgirls being rebellious and bold. The redesigned tarot deck challenges the idea of male and female binaries that are pre-exsiting in the nature of tarot, in a similar way cowgirls did this in society so I thought it would be a perfect theme for the deck. There are 21 cards in total as of May 2022, but I hope to develop redesigns for the Minor Arcana soon!
Divine Feminine Tarot cards are now being made a printed. The pack includes, creatively designed box, 21 illustrated cards, Instruction booklet which folds out into a zine and an acrylic pin badge. The finished product is now exclusively stocked at Head in the Cloud, Norwich.
This project has developed from such a small idea into a products and design that I am exceedingly proud of. The deck works so well as a set.
